A LETTER FROM A YOUNG GIRL TO JRD TATA

[Mr. Narayan Murthy with his wife Mrs. Sudha Murthy ]

This is the stuff legends are made of..Worth a read..

THE GIRL WRITING AS HERSELF....

It was probably the April of 1974. Bangalore was getting warm and gulmohars were blooming at the IISc campus. I was the only girl in my postgraduate department and was staying at the ladies' hostel. Other girls were pursuing research in different departments of Science. I was looking forward to going abroad to complete a doctorate in computer science. I had been offered scholarships from Universities in the US... I had not thought of taking up a job in India.

One day, while on the way to my hostel from our lecture-hall complex, I saw an advertisement on the notice board. It was a standard job-requirement notice from the famous automobile company Telco (now Tata Motors)... It stated that the company required young, bright engineers, hardworking and with an excellent academic background, etc.

At the bottom was a small line: 'Lady Candidates need not apply.' I read it and was very upset. For the first time in my life I was up against gender discrimination.

Though I was not keen on taking up the job, I saw it as a challenge. I had done extremely well in academics, better than most of my male peers... Little did I know then that in real life academic excellence is not enough to be successful?

After reading the notice I went fuming to my room. I decided to inform the topmost person in Telco's management about the injustice the company was perpetrating. I got a postcard and started to write, but there was a problem: I did not know who headed Telco

I thought it must be one of the Tatas. I knew JRD Tata was the head of the Tata Group; I had seen his pictures in newspapers (actually, Sumant Moolgaokar was the company's chairman then) I took the card, addressed it to JRD and started writing. To this day I remember clearly what I wrote. 'The great Tatas have always been pioneers. They are the people who started the basic infrastructure industries in India, such as iron and steel, chemicals, textiles and locomotives they have cared for higher education in India since 1900 and they were responsible for the establishment of the Indian Institute of Science. Fortunately, I study there. But I am surprised how a company such as Telco is discriminating on the basis of gender.'

I posted the letter and forgot about it. Less than 10 days later, I received a telegram stating that I had to appear for an interview at Telco's Pune facility at the company's expense. I was taken aback by the telegram. My hostel mate told me I should use the opportunity to go to Pune free of cost and buy them the famous Pune saris for cheap! I collected Rs 30/- each from everyone who wanted a sari when I look back, I feel like laughing at the reasons for my going, but back then they seemed good enough to make the trip.

It was my first visit to Pune and I immediately fell in love with the city.

To this day it remains dear to me. I feel as much at home in Pune as I do in Hubli, my hometown. The place changed my life in so many ways. As directed, I went to Telco's Pimpri office for the interview.

There were six people on the panel and I realized then that this was serious business.

'This is the girl who wrote to JRD,' I heard somebody whisper as soon as I entered the room. By then I knew for sure that I would not get the job. The realization abolished all fear from my mind, so I was rather cool while the interview was being conducted.

Even before the interview started, I reckoned the panel was biased, so I told them, rather impolitely, 'I hope this is only a technical interview.'

They were taken aback by my rudeness, and even today I am ashamed about my attitude. The panel asked me technical questions and I answered all of them.

Then an elderly gentleman with an affectionate voice told me, 'Do you know why we said lady candidates need not apply? The reason is that we have never employed any ladies on the shop floor. This is not a co-ed college; this is a factory. When it comes to academics, you are a first ranker throughout. We appreciate that, but people like you should work in research laboratories.

I was a young girl from small-town Hubli. My world had been a limited place.

I did not know the ways of large corporate houses and their difficulties, so I answered, 'But you must start somewhere, otherwise no woman will ever be able to work in your factories.'

Finally, after a long interview, I was told I had been successful. So this was what the future had in store for me. Never had I thought I would take up a job in Pune. I met a shy young man from Karnataka there, we became good friends and we got married.

It was only after joining Telco that I realized who JRD was: the uncrowned king of Indian industry. Now I was scared, but I did not get to meet him till I was transferred to Bombay. One day I had to show some reports to Mr Moolgaokar, our chairman, who we all knew as SM. I was in his office on the first floor of Bombay House (the Tata headquarters) when, suddenly JRD walked in. That was the first time I saw 'appro JRD'. Appro means 'our' in Gujarati. This was the affectionate term by which people at Bombay House called him. I was feeling very nervous, remembering my postcard episode. SM introduced me nicely, 'Jeh (that's what his close associates called him), this young woman is an engineer and that too a postgraduate.

She is the first woman to work on the Telco shop floor.' JRD looked at me. I was praying he would not ask me any questions about my interview (or the postcard that preceded it).

Thankfully, he didn't. Instead, he remarked. 'It is nice that girls are getting into engineering in our country. By the way, what is your name?'

'When I joined Telco I was Sudha Kulkarni, Sir,' I replied. 'Now I am Sudha Murthy.' He smiled and kindly smile and started a discussion with SM. As for me, I almost ran out of the room.

After that I used to see JRD on and off. He was the Tata Group chairman and I was merely an engineer. There was nothing that we had in common. I was in awe of him.

One day I was waiting for Murthy, my husband, to pick me up after office hours. To my surprise I saw JRD standing next to me. I did not know how to react. Yet again I started worrying about that postcard. Looking back, I realize JRD had forgotten about it. It must have been a small incident for him, but not so for me.

'Young lady, why are you here?' he asked. 'Office time is over.' I said, 'Sir, I'm waiting for my husband to come and pick me up.' JRD said, 'It is getting dark and there's no one in the corridor.

I'll wait with you till your husband comes.'

I was quite used to waiting for Murthy, but having JRD waiting alongside made me extremely uncomfortable.

I was nervous. Out of the corner of my eye I looked at him. He wore a simple white pant and shirt. He was old, yet his face was glowing. There wasn't any air of superiority about him. I was thinking, 'Look at this person. He is a chairman, a well-respected man in our country and he is waiting for the sake of an ordinary employee.'

Then I saw Murthy and I rushed out. JRD called and said, 'Young lady, tell your husband never to make his wife wait again.' In 1982 I had to resign from my job at Telco. I was reluctant to go, but I really did not have a choice. I was coming down the steps of Bombay House after wrapping up my final settlement when I saw JRD coming up. He was absorbed in thought. I wanted to say goodbye to him, so I stopped. He saw me and paused.

Gently, he said, 'So what are you doing, Mrs. Kulkarni?' (That was the way he always addressed me.) 'Sir, I am leaving Telco.'

'Where are you going?' he asked. 'Pune, Sir. My husband is starting a company called Infosys and I'm shifting to Pune.'

'Oh! And what will you do when you are successful.'

'Sir, I don't know whether we will be successful.' 'Never start with diffidence,' he advised me 'Always start with confidence. When you are successful you must give back to society. Society gives us so much; we must reciprocate. Wish you all the best.'

Then JRD continued walking up the stairs. I stood there for what seemed like a millennium. That was the last time I saw him alive.

Many years later I met Ratan Tata in the same Bombay House, occupying the chair JRD once did. I told him of my many sweet memories of working with Telco. Later, he wrote to me, 'It was nice hearing about Jeh from you. The sad part is that he's not alive to see you today.'

I consider JRD a great man because, despite being an extremely busy person, he valued one postcard written by a young girl seeking justice. He must have received thousands of letters everyday. He could have thrown mine away, but he didn't do that. He respected the intentions of that unknown girl, who had neither influence nor money, and gave her an opportunity in his company. He did not merely give her a job; he changed her life and mindset forever.

Close to 50 per cent of the students in today's engineering colleges are girls. And there are women on the shop floor in many industry segments. I see these changes and I think of JRD. If at all time stops and asks me what I want from life, I would say I wish JRD were alive today to see how the company we started has grown. He would have enjoyed it wholeheartedly.

My love and respect for the House of Tata remains undiminished by the passage of time. I always looked up to JRD. I saw him as a role model for his simplicity, his generosity, his kindness and the care he took of his employees. Those blue eyes always reminded me of the sky; they had the same vastness and magnificence.

Some quotes of Muhammad Ali..the greatest boxer

# We all have the same God, we just serve him differently. Rivers, lakes, ponds, streams, oceans all have different names, but they all contain water. So do religions have different names, and they all contain truth, expressed in different ways forms and times. It doesn't matter whether you're a Muslim, a Christian, or a Jew. When you believe in God, you should believe that all people are part of one family. If you love God, you can't love only some of his children.

# Wouldn't it be a beautiful world if just 10 percent of the people who believe in the power of love would compete with one another to see who could do the most good for the most people?

# If we continue to think and live as if we belong only to different cultures and different religions, with separate missions and goals, we will always be in self-defeating competition with each other.
Once we realize we are all members of humanity, we will want to compete in the spirit of love.

# In a competition of love we'll all share in the victory, no matter who comes first.

# I've wrestled with an alligator..
tussled with a whale..
handcuffed the lightening..
& thrown thunder in the jail..

...Murdered a rock.. injured a stone..hospitalised a brick..
i am so mean.. i make medicines sick !!

Indian Rupee to get a new sign..

So finally the news has come and the symbol made public..

Indian Rs. is getting a symbol (as shown above) which is a mixture of Devnagari script's alphabet "Ra"(Devanagari script is the script in which most of the Indian languages like Sanskrit, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Marathi, Gujarati etc. are written)and Roman Script's alphabet "R"(Roman script is the script in which English, German etc are written).

The growing Indian economic conditions led it to have a symbol to differentiate the Indian Rupees from the currencies used by Pakistan (Pakistan Rupee), Nepal (Nepali Rupee), Sri-Lanka (Sri-Lankan Rupee) and Indonesia (Rupiah).

Now, Indian currency will join the selected few currencies of the world which are having their own symbol. After US Dollar, UK Pound, Japaneese Yen and EU's Euro, Indian Rupee will be the fifth currency to have this distinction.

Airliner Black-Box

The "black box" is a generic term for two recording devices carried aboard commercial airliners. The Flight Data Recorder (FDR) records a variety of parameters related to the operation and flight characteristics of the plane. The Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) records the voices of the flight crew, engine noise, and any other sounds in the cockpit. All large commercial airliners and certain varieties of smaller commercial, corporate, and private aircraft are required by law to carry one or both of these boxes, which generally cost between $10,000 and $15,000 apiece. The data these devices provide is often invaluable to experts investigating the events leading up to an accident. The recovery of the boxes is one of the highest priorities in any mishap investigation, second only to locating survivors or recovering the remains of victims. FDR information is also often used to study other aviation safety issues, engine performance, and to identify potential maintenance issues.

Despite the nickname "black box," the FDR and CVR are actually painted a bright high-visibility orange with white reflecting strips to make them easier to spot at a crash scene. The meaning of the term black box itself is somewhat unclear. Some suggest it refers to the black charring that occurs in a post-crash fire while others believe the color black is a reference to the deaths often associated with an accident investigation. The design of modern black boxes is regulated by a group called the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The ICAO determines what information the black boxes must record, over what length of time it is saved, and how survivable the boxes must be. The ICAO delegates much of this responsibility to the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE) that maintains a document called the Minimum Operational Performance Specification for Crash Protected Airborne Recorder Systems.

Black boxes first began to appear in the 1950s and became mandatory during the 1960s. These early devices used magnetic tape for data storage, much like that used in a tape recorder. As the tape is pulled over an electromagnetic head, sound or numerical data is recorded on the medium. Analog black boxes using magnetic tape are still present aboard many planes, but these recording devices are no longer manufactured. Newer recorders instead use solid-state memory boards, called a Crash Survivable Memory Unit (CSMU), that record data in a digital format. Instead of the moving parts present in older recorders, solid-state devices use stacked arrays of memory chips similar to a USB memory stick. The lack of moving parts eases maintenance while reducing the chance of a critical component breaking in a crash. Solid-state recorders can also save considerably more data than older magnetic tape devices and are more resistant to shock, vibration, and moisture.

Whatever the medium used to record the data, the purpose of the black boxes is to collect information from various sensors aboard an aircraft. The Cockpit Voice Recorder, for example, saves sounds from microphones located on the flight deck. An area microphone is typically placed in the overhead instrument panel between the pilots, and an additional microphone is located in the headset of each member of the flight crew. These microphones pick up conversations between the flight crew, engine noises, audible warning alarms, landing gear sounds, clicks from moving switches, and any other noises like pops or thuds that might occur in the cockpit. The CVR also records communications with Air Traffic Control, automated radio weather briefings, and conversations between the pilots and ground or cabin crew. These sounds often allow investigators to determine the time of key events and system failures.

I must confess at this moment that i was not much aware about the Black-Box thing per se except the name. But the mishap of an Air-India Express flight at Mangalore Air-port some days back made me to look for more knowledge regarding it.
It is just a part of that information regarding Airliner Black Box which was sent to me by my friend.

Matches made in heaven.. ?? Are you sure !!

A match-making process is surely an experience to remember for the lifetime..
there are so many facets and things involved that in the end the guy finds it out that everything is not that hunky-dory as is portrayed in the bollywood movies.

It all starts when the guy crosses the critical age bar of 25 years (this criticality of the age depends on the socio-economic background of the family hence is not a sacrosanct figure).

Once that age is reached, then even if the guy is having certain other dreams to pursue but the society (which includes neighbours, near relatives, distant relatives, friends and friend of friends)start giving free advices to the parents like: "arey wo srivastava jee ki ladki bahut khoobsurat hai, Engineering/MBA/MBBS kar liya hai..aapke ladke ke liye acchi jodi hai"

[In some other cases, when the concerned guy goes for a social gathering.. the relatives and friends start staring at you as though you are the next and we would like to have a feast at your function next !!]

and one day when the guy reaches his home he finds out that Srivastava jee is actually sitting there over a cuppa with his parents with the photographs of his daughter. One look at the photgraphs and u'll find out as though the girl is trying to woo you from the photograph itself (with loads of make-up off-course).
Then Srivastava jee starts praising the girls various qualities..which are highly unlikely for any person to have all of them together.

When he finds that the prospective groom's mother wants to have a simple girl with all the homely girl qualities then according to Srivastav jee his daughter is well versed with cooking, stitching, respecting Indian values and ethos as well as very religious minded and also Saree-wearing.

When the prospective groom's father wants his would be Bahu to be strong, confident, capable of taking care of a family, Srivastava jee has numerous examples to put forward his point for the same.

Then the viva-voce (torturous Q&A session) starts for the guy all with that idiotic smile on Srivastava jee's face ( as though he is thinking that "murga toh phans gaya").

Then a formal meeting is arranged whereby the guy and the gal can meet for the first time and probably the last time before getting betrothed.
At that meeting the guy finds that the gal has been to a parlour shop for last five hours for that "Aishwarya Rai" look. Also she has no qualms in wearing anything Jeans, Tank-tops to name a few.

(*God knows and only the girls father knows that how come the girl is goin to keep up the Indian ethos with that deep neck, tight-fitting Patiala dress*)

When every issue's are settled, a "Pandit" is summoned to fix a date to end the guy's free days and put him behind bars (jailed for life-time with the nuptial knots..)

Women choice in Husband store !!

A store that sells husbands has just opened in New York City , where a

woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the

entrance is a description of how the store operates. You may visit

the store ONLY ONCE!

There are six floors and the attributes of the men increase as the

shopper ascends the flights. There is, however, a catch . . .. you

may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go

up a floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building !!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband

On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men

have jobs.

The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men have jobs

and love kids.

The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men have jobs,

love kids, and are extremely good looking. "Wow," she thinks,

but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads: Floor 4 - These men

have jobs, love kids, are drop- dead good looking and

help with the housework "Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly

stand it!"

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads: Floor 5 - These

men have jobs, love kids, are drop- dead gorgeous,

help with the housework, and have a strong romantic streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the

sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 4,363,012 to this floor. There are no men

on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are

impossible to please! Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

Watch your step as you exit the building, and have a nice day!

The Imperfect world

God was in the process of creating the universe. And he was explaining his subordinates...

"Look everything should be in balance.
For example, after every 10 deers there should be a lion. Look here my fellow angels,
here is the country of the United States I have blessed them with prosperity and money.
But at the same time I have given them insecurity and tension...

And here is Africa. I have given them beautiful nature.
But at the same time, I have given them climatic extremes...

And here is South America. I have given them lots of forests.
But at the same time, I have given them lesser land so that they would have to cut off the forests...
So you see fellows, everything should be in balance.

One of the angels asked... "God, what is this extremely beautiful country here?"
God said....... "Ahh...that is the crown piece of all.
"INDIA", my most precious creation.
It has understanding and friendly people.
Sparkling streams, serene mountains.
A culture which speaks of the great tradition that they live.
Technologically brilliant and with a heart of gold...

The angel was quite surprised "But god you said everything should be in balance."

God replied - "Look at the neighbours, I gave them !!

Hindi Teleserials = Chewing Gum

I wanted to write on this particular issue since long..but was refraining myself that probably good sense will prevail in the Hindi serial directors & producers but after such a long wait....nothing of that seems in the horizon also !!

To be very clear at the outset itself.. I am not a fan of any Hindi T.V. serial but 'am not against them also.... since they appeal and generate interest in many other people.
After the demise of the teleserials made by our very own soap-queen (K)Ekta Kapoor, it was thought that there will be some new series on offer whereby stories will end when the main plot on which the story revolves is revealed..
It all started-off well with new directors providing new stories based on new themes and new plots....they got huge fan followings too.. but probably these directors and producers do not understand that it is better to wrap up a show(product) when it is on the Maturity phase of its life cycle 'cuz that makes the teleserial to be remembered even after ages of its end (for instance "Ramayana", "Mahabharata", "Buniyaad", "Hum-Log", "Chandrakaanta", "The Jungle Book" etc.)

Some people have a different say to that and they differ to my point saying that we are having lot many "Reality Shows" coming up these days..i respect this point of view and those shows had been respected too like "Kaun Banega Crorepati", "MTV Roadies", "Indian Idol" but again in this genre of "Reality T.V." shows there are so many stereotypes which came and are coming up everyday, which on the pretext of reality are interested in showing vulgarity like "Emotional Attyachar" or are just trying to give the same product in a new bottle, like "Iss jungle se mujhe bachao" and numerous songs and dance shows !!

We can only expect that a good sense will prevail and we will be able to watch some masterpiece in coming years....

Remember this always.....

It’s another morning..
….. Again I have to go to the office.

Ohh, this is me… I shouted having a glance on my snap in today’s news paper.
But what the HELL it is doing in the death column??

Strange…

One sec... Let me think, last night when I was going to bed I had a severe pain in my chest, but I don’t remember anything after that, I think I had a sound sleep.

Its morning now, ohh….. It’s already 10:00 AM, where is my coffee?
I will be late for office and my boss will get a chance to irritate me.

Where is everyone…??? I screamed.

“I think there is a crowd outside my room, let me check.” I said to myself.

So many people….. Not all of them crying…
But why some of them crying…

WHAT IS THIS??? I m laying there on the floor…

“I AM HERE” … I shouted!!! No one listen.
“LOOK I AM NOT DEAD” … I screamed once again!!! No one is interested in me.
They all were looking me on the bed.

I went back to my bed room.

“Am I dead??” I asked myself.

Where is my wife, my children, my mom-DAD, my friends?

I found them in the next room, all of them were crying… still trying to console each other.

My wife was crying… she was really looking sad.
My little kid was not sure what happened, but he was crying just coz his mom was sad.

How can I go without saying my kid that I really love him, I really do care of him. ??
How can I go without saying my wife that she is really most beautiful and most caring wife in this world..??
How can I go without saying my parents that I m … just because of u ??
How can I go without telling my friends that without them perhaps I have done most of the wrong things in my life… thanks for being there always when I need them… and sorry for not being there when they really need me..

I can see a person standing in the corner and trying to hide his tears…
Ohh… he was once my best friend, but a small misunderstanding made us part, and we both have strong enough ego to keep us disconnect.

I went there.. And offered him my hand, “Dear friend… I just want to say sorry for everything, we r still best friend, please forgive me.”

No response from other side, what the hell?? He is still preserving his ego, I am saying sorry… even then!!!
I really don’t care for such people.

But one sec…. it seems he is not able to see me!!!! He did not see my extended hand.
My goodness… AM I REALLY DEAD???

I just sat down near ME; I was also feeling like crying…

“OHH ALMIGHTY!!!! PLEASE JUST GIVE ME FEW MORE DAYS…”
I just wasn’t to make my wife, my parents; my friends realize that how much I love them.

My wife entered in the room, she looks beautiful.
“YOU R BEAUTIFUL” I shouted.
She didn’t hear my words, in fact she never heard these words coz I never said this to her.

“GOD!!!!” I screamed… a little more time plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..
I cried…

One more chance please… to hug my child, to make my mom smile just once, to feel my dad proud on me at least for a moment, to say sorry to my friends for everything I have not given to them, and thanks for still being in my life….

Then I looked up and cried!!!!

I shouted….

“GOD!!!! ONE MORE CHANCE PLEASE!!!!”

"You shouted in your sleep," said my wife as she gently woke me up. "Did you have a nightmare?"

I was sleeping….
Ohh that was just a dream….

My wife was there… she can hear me…
This is the happiest moment of my life…
I hugged her and whispered…. “U R THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND CARING WIFE IN THIS UNIVERSE…. I REALLY LOVE U DEAR”

I can’t understand the reason of the smile on her face with some tears in her eyes, still I m happy…. J

“THANK YOU GOD FOR THIS SECOND? CHANCE.”

SO, Now it’s not late.. forget Ur Egos, Past… and Xpress Ur love to others… Be friendly… Keep smiling… for ever…….

Because one may not get second chance in his / her Life.

A joke....

A Woman was out golfing one day when she hit the ball into the woods. She went into the woods to look for it and found a frog in a trap.

The frog said to her, "If you release me from this trap, I will grant you three wishes."

The woman freed the frog, and the frog said, "Thank you, but I failed to mention that there was a condition to your wishes.

Whatever you wish for, your husband will get ten times of it!"

The woman said, "That's okay."

For her first wish, she wanted to be the most beautiful woman in the world. The frog warned her, "You do realize that this wish will also make your husband the most handsome man in the world, an Adonis whom women will flock to".

The woman replied, "That's okay, because I will be the most beautiful woman and he will have eyes only for me." So, KAZAM- she's the most beautiful Woman in the world!

For her second wish, she wanted to be the richest woman in the world. The frog said, "That will make your husband the richest man in the world. And he will be ten times richer than you. " The woman said, "That's okay, because what's mine is his and what's his is mine." So, KAZAM- she's the richest woman in the world!

The frog then inquired about her third wish, and she answered, "I'd like to have a mild heart attack."

Moral of the story: "Women are clever. Don't mess with them."
Attention female readers: This is the end of the joke for you. Stop here and continue feeling good!

Male readers: Please read further..

The man had a heart attack ten times
"milder" than his wife!!!
Moral of the story : "Women are really dumb but think they're really smart .
Let them continue to think that way and just enjoy the show "

PS: If you are a woman and are still reading this; it only goes to show that women never listen!!!

Donkey & Dog

Read and think-You may find one in your midst The Donkey and the Dog-

There was once a washer man who had a donkey and a dog. One night when the whole world was sleeping, a thief broke into the house, the washer man was fast asleep too but the donkey and the dog were awake. The dog decided not to bark since the master did not take good care of him and wanted to teach him a lesson. The donkey got worried and said to the dog that if he doesn't bark, the donkey will have to do something himself. The dog did not change his mind and the donkey started braying loudly. Hearing the donkey bray, the thief ran away, the master woke up and started beating the donkey for braying in the middle of the night for no reason.

Moral of the story " One must not engage in duties other than his own"

Now take a new look at the same story... The washer man was a well educated man from a premier management institute. He had the fundas of looking at the bigger picture and thinking out of the box. He was convinced that there must be some reason for the donkey to bray in the night.. He walked outside a little and did some fact finding, applied a bottom up approach, figured out from the ground realities that there was a thief who broke in and the donkey only wanted to alert him about it. Looking at the donkey's extra initiative and going beyond the call of the duty, he rewarded him with lot of hay and other perks and became his favorite pet. The dog's life didn't change much, except that now the donkey was more motivated in doing the dog's duties as well. In the annual appraisal the dog managed "ME" (Met Expectations) . Soon the dog realized that the donkey is taking care of his duties and he can enjoy his life sleeping and lazing around. The donkey was rated as " star performer". The donkey had to live up to his already high performance standards. Soon he was over burdened with work and always under pressure and now is looking for a NEW JOB ..

WHAT HAPPENS IN HEAVEN !!

This is one of the nicest mails I have seen and is so true.

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.

My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, 'This Is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to GOD said in prayer are received.'

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me, 'This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them.'

I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the Door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. 'This is the Acknowledgment Section,' My angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed 'How is it that there is no work going on here?' I asked.'

So sad,' the angel sighed. 'After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments ...''

How does one acknowledge GOD's blessings?' I asked.

'Simple,' the angel answered. Just say, 'Thank you, GOD.''

What blessings should they acknowledge?' I asked...'

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.''

And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.'

Also .......
' If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... You are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.'

'If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation.. You are ahead of 700 million people in the world.

''If you can attend a Place of Worship without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world .

''If your parents are still alive and still married ....you are very rare ...

''If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair.

'Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings......

ATTN: Acknowledge Dept.: 'Thank you GOD, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people to share.’

F'ship Day....

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the Journey they had an Argument, and one friend Slapped the other one on the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE .They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE. The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now,you write on a stone, why?"The other friend replied"When someone hurts us we should write it downin sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

COSAN

My deary Diary.....
after a long gap here i am....again with some of ma rantings....
There are so many incidents happening around the globe which is purely related to what can be termed as "Racial Bias"....and everytime the issue is aggravated the culprits are the so called "whites" who in their make belief world think themselves to be the most superior race of human beings.....
But if we'll observe that what is the reason behind their fancies, then it becomes quite clear that it is the basic difference of opinions within certain races which emboldens those so called "whites" think about their supremacy..... since the days when apartheid and human labour was in vogue these so called "whites" tried to feast on the differences underlying within certain racial groups.....For instance....a few centuries back they were using the difference of opinions between the Negroites and were using them for their benefits.....but ever since the anti-apartheid campaign gained pace......this whole perception and differentiation ceased to exist between the Africans and the westerners......but this has made the whole African continent to lag behind the world, and this lagging is for a great amount of time.....
But the silverlining is that....atlast they have made one of them to be elected as the most powerful man in the white-house.....

Upto this part it was okay.....okay because we, the south asians were not involved......But the eyes of those differentiators on racial lines are now coming and have set on the subcontinental region.....
This has happened because of the simmering differences between our south asian nations.....we are fighting every-now and then on petty issues and this whole series of blame-game is going on continuously since very many years.....we are so much involved in our differences that we are not able to look beyond that.....that these differentiators/fascists are trying to encircle us and engulf us.....The Chineese, Americans, English, Australians, Israelis....they are all trying to pounce on us to get their greatest amount of share of our flesh.....
I dunno what for South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is there and what is it doing.....but i believe that the subcontinent nations should form a confederation......Confederation of South Asian Nations (COSAN) with independent governments and single defence force as well as currency.....
It may seem as a day-dreaming exercise or an impossible reality....but to remain a potent force or become a superpower....it is the need of the hour......
The racial biases meted out to the Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis, Nepalis and Bhutanese can only be absolved in this way.....
*United we stand....divided we fall*

Who knows probably then we can have a "person of subcontinental origin" presiding the White House or staying at 10 Downing Street !!!!

Searching Life.....

Yesterday, while lying on my bed….
With stars above and no shed…..

I was thinking about the colors of life
….whether they are blue, green or red???

In these torrid times….when there is
no security even to walk and to tread….
Many like me have to go miles
to earn our daily bread….

So I don’t understand why some people feel happy
by wounding many and killing hundred’s dead….

There are many ways available
to put our points with holding high head…..
cuz. someone has once said that
“an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind” and
a place where even saints would fear and dread….

Oh god!! please open your arms
to make the love spread….
And make this world a beautiful place
for every Ram, Rahim and Fred…..

Hinduism - A Scientific Religion

Yep….Hinduism is the most scientific religion till date mankind has ever seen….

But before writing anything on such a vast topic, I would like to put a disclaimer stating that these are my views as well as understandings and perceptions for the great religion called “Hinduism” – the “Satya” and “Sanaatan” Dharma.

“Satya” and “Sanaatan” i.e. the true and divine because Hinduism is based on the four pillars of “Anant Gyan” i.e. Infinite Knowledge which are the four Vedas namely – Rigveda, Samveda, Yajurveda and Atharvaveda.

But the scientific world which is mostly based on the western aspects of knowledge and which believes in the power of marketing the pre-existent theories in the name of new scientific inventions has blindfolded the world populace at large regarding the absolute truth.
But still I respect the present western learning and inventions because they have made the understanding very simple.

Just take for instance that we all are aware about the big-bang theory regarding the formation of universe but if you will go through the Hinduism’s “Samveda” or the “Naadbrahma”; you will come to know about the fact that the life came into existence with a great “Naad” or the sound. This sound is “OM”. Because we all are aware about the fact that whenever a big-bang occurs, the sound generated will always be that of “OM”.

According to Hindu beliefs “OM” is the sound of Lord Shiva or “Mahadeva” who is considered as unborn and ever existent…..who was there even before the formation of the whole universe and will remain even after its end.
The Almighty….the most powerful Shiva or Mahadeva because he is above all Deva’s i.e. gods and goddesses.

One more generalization can be developed at this time since we know that Lord Shiva is considered as god of destruction and virtual end….who is represented as the phallic structure in black for revering and worshipping. This black phallic structure of Mahadeva Shiva is the representation of Black Hole, the place of getting Nirvana and Moksha because we all human beings of the 21st century know that whatever matter enters into a black hole can’t ever come back…..similarly it is said in Hinduism that when your soul or the “Aatma” meets the “Paramatma” or the almighty….you attain divinity and go beyond the cycle of birth and death.

Again there is a misconception and misrepresentation that Hinduism believes in multitude of gods and goddesses; which is not true to its core. Basically Hinduism revolves around the science of – (G)eneration; (O)peration and (D)estruction i.e. GOD whereby each part is specifically described and hence to put a head to all the three actions, the trinity of god is perceived i.e.
Lord Brahma for Generation
Lord Vishnu for Operation, and
Lord Shiva for Destruction

Now since generation and destruction are basically constant and not changeable as compared to operations hence Lord Vishnu is worshipped in various forms who appeared & reincarnated from time to time as per the requirements of different era’s and hence the saying:

“yada yada hi dharmasya glanirbhavati bharataha
abhiyuthhanam adharmasya tadatmanam shrijamiyaham”

“paritranaay saadhunaa, vinaashay cha dushkritaam
dharmasansthapnaarthaya, sambhavaami yugay yugay”

Which means that whenever and wherever there is destruction of dharma i.e. truth and love in this world….I will come on this world to remove the miseries
Also the second shloka says that whenever there is destruction of “saadhu” i.e. the truth seeker and the love and order setter; I will come to put an end to the death and destruction…..I will take birth for setting the dharma i.e. truth, love, compassion and order in every era….every epoch….every time…..

Thus it has been seen that the god himself or in the form of his messenger sends the messiah from time to time on earth for setting an example; either in the form of Shri Ram, Shri Krishna, Mahatma Buddha, Paigambar Muhammad, Jesus Christ or Guru Nanak Dev….

And that is why there is space for multitude of gods and goddesses because Hinduism is not rigid but flexible to incorporate everything.

Hence wherever there is Hindutva on this world there is space for revering and worshipping of god in any form…..either in the form of idol or stone’s or human formation or symbols or in non-idol form.

Thus Hinduism is the religion and culture of scientific approach, universal brotherhood, love, compassion, coexistence and above all respect for each other……

The Clarion Call

The time is ripe….
To do the business swipe

Not for one…..but for all….
To do the total recall
And accept the times “Clarion Call”

It will be only for a foolish
Not to reap benefits….
….when the market is bullish

But there’s a word of caution….
….needed to mention

Since as the market can rapidly surge, diverge and emerge….
It can also plummet, nosedive and submerge

So you all…..
Entrepreneurs with incomes…hmmmm…. tall

Don’t take any action in behest
Since it’s a market infested with pest
Which should be intelligently laid to rest….

So…. Equip yourself with the business toolkit….
With P/E ratios and EPS in it….

But,
Remember this one too that only ratios & balance sheets
Alone are nothing but…mere bullshits….

So…embed your information….
With PESTEL condition

And then….

Take the dig…
And do the biz big…
